Each piece portrays a performance. The layering of imagery suggesting the way memory and personal history is created, repeated and evolves. The fixed gestures of the characters suggests the static nature of the drama . All our stories consists of personal invention, any recollection of an event will involve real and fictitious representations of life.

I begin a piece by collecting words and images from a range of sources. I look at literary texts, magazines, journals, song lyrics. I use found objects, textile designs, graffiti and conversations overheard. This ‘borrowed’ imagery is layered alongside a collection of my own drawings to offer a sense of the coexistence of events and experiences.

I find inspiration for my work in everyday life; the boredom of work and relationships, lament over the loss of youth, binge drinking, gratuitous violence, and misfits.
